Apparently everyone’s deleting Windows for CachyOS, and I had no idea if that was actually justified. So I figured I’d find out. I’ve been on Windows for years, and the only game I really play is Trackmania, so that was the one thing that absolutely had to work. CachyOS is Arch-based and built for modern CPUs, with a bunch of gaming stuff already set up. More frames for free, in theory. Pretty quickly, it became obvious that one of these two was faster. But there’s one thing about gaming on Linux that nobody warns you about until you run straight into it.
