Your Ad Blockers Are Going To Stop Working! Yes, Google will remove all the Ad Block extensions from Chrome Web Store on 31st August 2026. That means, you won’t be able to install ad blockers on a new browser, and existing ones won’t receive updates. Why? Because Google is making Manifest V3 mandatory. The problem is, most popular ad blockers work only on Manifest V2, and with Manifest V3, ad blockers can’t run well. And it’s not just Chrome, rumours are that Edge and Opera will also implement this very soon. Maybe even Brave. Now, this is obviously great for websites that depend on ad revenue. But for users?
