I take a look at KolibriOS, an incredibly tiny operating system that can boot from a single 1.44 MB floppy disk. I test it on an original Pentium PC and a few other 90s specced machines to see just how usable it really is, and honestly, the performance surprised me. With a graphical desktop, bundled apps, games and tools all squeezed into such a tiny space, KolibriOS is impressively optimised and a brilliant way to breathe new life into old hardware.
