The Bigme B10 in black and white is a slightly strange e-ink tablet — but it also points towards something I really want.

A fast 10.3-inch monochrome display, Android, Google Play, 4G, microSD and a genuinely good keyboard case make this feel remarkably close to a little e-ink laptop. For writing in a single document, it can be excellent.
So I took it outside and tried to get some proper work done.
The hardware convinced me. The screen is beautiful, the refresh is fast and the keyboard is much better than I expected. But once I started switching between documents and apps, Android became the limitation.
Perhaps the e-ink laptop isn’t quite here yet. But we’re getting awfully close.
